- Roll-Formed Selective Racks: This type of rack is made by cold-rolling steel to form thin, standardized components, which are then used to form the storage system. They’re lightweight, making it easier to assemble and disassemble. Ideal for industries with seasonal inventory or products in varying sizes.
- Structural Pallet Racks: These racks are made by using hot-rolled structural steel channels for beams and uprights. It includes a heavy-duty lower horizontal brace and a welded foot protector. Durable even under the most demanding conditions and can withstand forklift impact.
- Pushback Racks: These racks allow pallets to be stored two to six deep on either side of an aisle. As operators load pallets, it pushes the previous pallets back, allowing more storage space than other forms of racking. No special forklifts are required and these racks are commonly used in manufacturing, food and beverage, automotive, and more.
- Drive-In Racks: Best for situations with high quantities of identical or limited SKUs. A driver places pallets many rows deep (can usually be ten or more) and can only remove from the same entry point. This creates a Last-In/First-Out (LIFO) system that eliminates the need for multiple aisles. The compressed design can be very cost-effective. This system is usually built against a wall.
- Cantilever Racks: Usually used to hold bulky or irregularly-shaped items, like plywood, pipes or carpet. These racks consist of beams anchored at one end to an upright base and can hold items that are extremely long. They can hold a lot of weight and act as open linear storage.
